For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

 Holy Bible (NIV) 1.3 - 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

 Now, as teenagers we have an important responsibility. God will not quicken anything for you....
Holy Bible (NIV) 1.3 - 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

 The King James Version of that scripture says that 'he has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness'.
 So, you now have the responsibility of working out your own godliness... Fan it into flames! .... 
Now verse 7 of 2 timothy tells us the spirits that we have in us... the latter part said the spirit of self-discipline....
That means we can fan that into flames also.
We can fan the spirit of power in us into flames too... wow! So sweet!

Finally! To show you that you and you alone has the power to control yourself... let’s check this...
 1.3 - 1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

1 Peter 1:14 as obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

 Hmm you even have the ability to or not to conform to sin....
 See guys, no one go take responsibility for your life. Nah you go take the full blame or the credit, however way it turns out eventually...
